Let's Get Festive

time to get the dust off this old blog and get it ready for december shindig!

what with the holidays, christmases, old years, new years and my birthday (oh, yeah!) the whole month is basically one big party 'round the clock.

and what better way to kick things off than some trippin' scraps. so, like every good host, i figured i better offer my guests a bunch of freshly baked (well, ok, illustrated) cookies, bucket of eggnog and some trashy punch-drunk-love-sick-singalongs to lift up the mood. please, help yourselves!

these should come in handy for those fun times you're about to have baking treats with your kiddos. but also, should you be so lucky, documenting all the kitch & glamour from your anual office christmas party. unless, of course, you decide it's best to bury all discriminating evidence of the aformentioned event.

how ever you decide to use this gift, is up to you. but please - do not drink and drive. ok?

be safe. be smart. and if you survive december, swing by again in january. who knows, i might or might not just leave another treat for you here.

Bohemian Breeze

september's always been a special time of year in my life - with lots of turbulance, action, great expectations and blessed relief. when summer starts fading and just before all the autumn drama begins we get to enjoy those few glorious weeks of indian summer to breath in, gather our thoughts and be all like "damn, it's good to be alive"!

for sure, a feeling like that fuels me with inspiration and i'm happy to go back to my paints and just let loose. you can see the results in this months bt kit- in one of the lovelies palettes and generously topped with gold shimmers. because september deservers it! i even pulled out our old bagata and went crazy making stitches. along with some usual stamping and snipping it's was an all round fun process!

since i enjoyed scrapping in this newly discovered format with square cards, i also created a complimentary set of 3x3' cards to bring some painted boho touches to your pockets

and for more awesomeness, collect the whole bt here

hope you have a september to remember, my dears! ;)

A Bug's World

i am both fascinated and digusted by bugs.
hence this quite ambivalent scrap kit!

on one hand, the stunning diversity of species, their ability to adapt and absolute perfection of the way each teeny tiny organism was created have inspired the style of my kit - something very pretty, clean & stylish.

on the other hand, i couldn't ignore the unpleasent, nerv wrecking encounters with those parasitic pests that crawl into the tiniest gaps and infest your entire life. and you know i'm not talking only about insects here.

that's how i made a kit that celebrates their beauty, but also expresses the frustration of having to deal with blood sucking creeps. so whether you're a nature loving bug enthusiast or a desperate pest exterminator, in this pack you should be able to find some appropriate scraps for your pages!

here's to a pest-free future! ;)

and hey, if you still haven't had enough of bugs, you'll find lots more here!

Summer Splash

after a longer abstinence from the world of digi designing i was itching to get back & create something!

so, for this month's summer splash bt i was thinking cold juice, fresh fruits and water. lots of water! perfect oportunity to use some of those watercolor brushes i made earlier on.

ideas just kept splashing me from all sides as i was making it and before you know it my humble little bt portion shamelessly grew into a proper bundle! if anyone objects, i plead temporary insanity - this heat fried my brain and made me ga-ga! :)

with the working class folks with no time off who can't stand the summer heat primarily in mind, this kit was build around the idea of refreshments and afternoon siesta. but honestly, even if you can't relate, i bet you'll find something in this rich pack to help you scrap your summer pages!

for you project lifers out there, i kept the cards as neutral & clean as possible so they would be an easy fit to different albums.

well, there it is. hope you enjoy these, have a splashing summer & scrap all about it! and when you do, show us in the PS gallery so we can *heart* you :)

being on Violets ct is cool enough, but having exclusive access to her designing process and all the behind the scenes action is a whole other level of cool!

so excuse me if i'm a bit sentimental about her latest "Already There" bundle-  being able to correspond with her and participate in creating this beauty of a kit was the single most rewarding moment of my life as a scrapper! i was left with a new found respect and admiration for all the talented, hard working designers out there.

but, all that aside, my main role as her ct is to make some inspirational layouts. so here's a few samples i came up with:

1. Stamp Attack - no better way to spend those few stolen hours of freedom than covered in acrylics and carving new wacky stamps when inspiration strikes. hell yes!

2. Soak Up The Sun - gentle spring sun and a mild breeze call for a lazy outdoor afternoon. documented here in an awesome sunburst composition, if i may say so myself ;)

3. On My Way - and when the everyday life starts giving me those nasty reality-bites, i'm often confussed about the direction i'm headed. i don't know where i am or where i'm going. just that i am on my way.

4. Hunka Ham - starting a new full time job was one of those reality-bites. but the first day was simply übercool and totally scrapworthy, as you can tell from this page:

just...scrumptiously! don't you think? ;)

Your beliefs become your thoughts,
Your thoughts become your words,
Your words become your actions,
Your actions become your habits,
Your habits become your values,
Your values become your destiny.”
                          - Mahatma Gandhi

words that inspired my interpretation of this months blog train theme - "reflections". it's about realizing the power of our thoughts & how our "outsides" are merely a reflection of our "insides". so, we might as well think positive, right?!

the process of creating this kit included not only a little soul searching, but also exploring different graphic styles and design techniques. it was a pretty rewarding learning experience!

i would say the result of this stylistic exercise is a mix of art journaling & collage. an attempt to fuse the clean, geometric minimalism of a collage with some powerful, bold mess of the art journals.

i made a set of six 3x4' filler and journal cards that can quickly add a bit of that artsy flavour to your pocket style albums, but will also blend well with the rest of the kit, in case you feel like creating your own art journal pages

variety is something i'm pretty proud regarding this kit- so many motifs and textures to combine, in  different and exciting ways! hope you find some bits and pieces here that inpire you to make something new. and if you do, i'd totaly love to check it out, so drop me a line!

and here you'll find the full bt list, with more fabulous goodies!

a page i made using MandysLovableDesigns & my part, just to give you a better idea of the kit:

any thoughts you'd like to share?

1 Mar 2015

the march blog train theme was really extensive and because i couldn't decide on just one animal/ color, i created something different.

a set of supplies good for general use, neutral enough to blend in any sort of page you're making but still funky enough to add some cool accents!

originally, i was only gonna share a set of handletter cards with you.
funny thing about handlettering i didn't realize at first - to achieve a proper brush stroke flow, you have to hold the brush in your right hand.
(i'm a left hander, by the way)
but i wasn't gonna let that stop me!

that's six 3x4 animal phrase cards in .jpg which i believe you'll (sometimes) be able to relate to. and a mystery bonus card - thrown in just for fun!

for the finishing touch on the cards, i needed to create some animal icons. and once i had them, i wanted to see what more i might do with them. and so- you're also getting this paper pack! now, how cool is that?!

just making sure you don't miss any of the awesome contributions - here's the complete bt list

i already snagged a couple portions and scrapped a little somethin' somethin':

and finally, i wanted to give a big thanks to all you lovely people for the comments you've left me here. i've so enjoyed reading them & this kind of feedback just makes me wanna create more stuff for you! really appreciate it.

got an animalistic layout in mind, yet?

Pixelscrapper challenged us to make a doodle kit
and since my hometown will soon turn into the Free Fašnik Republic
i was inspired to create a set of carnival scraps.

we host probably the wackiest parade of all, based on political satire & grotesque like characters. it's a 189 year old tradition that lets you act as nuts as possible for 10 days & just have a mad good time!

it was in that spirit that i opened my gimp and started doodling, playing with different brush dynamics- and didn't stop untill i had the whole Wack-a-Doodle set done!
this fun little mix will quickly add a touch of whimsy to your pages, so i hope you enjoy it!
also, i added a subtile, realistic shadow to the semi transparent washi tapes, so they're ready-to-use ;)

do you also get wacky in february?

Rustic Charm

welcome to my little cabin, lovely hoppers!

working under the moto "no rust, just charm" i've created a mish mash of scraps, that you can hopefully use for anything from everyday moments to valentines.

for this kit i've done some drawing, a little crocheting, followed by some more doodling, a lot of blending and i even kissed a paper :)

it was all totally worth it, because now i can proudly offer you- my "Rustic Charm"!

hope you enjoy it!

and don't forget to check out all the other contributors - ladies were feeling particulary inspired this month!

i couldn't resist but scrap this utterly charming set of black whiskers:

and who charmed you lately?

documenting my here & nows

an unbelievable thing happened!
just as i was making this layout
about sending out job applications

the phone rang
and bam!
i got a job.

and with hands still shaking
i scrapped my initial reaction

to calm my mind down
i needed to bake something.
something lushes, creamy soft, light...
why, of course- pina colada cupcakes it is!

#YKIMS - Constant Change

every once in a while i come across a saying so powerful it keeps following me through my daily life. things you just know make sense!

often those words inspire my scrap pages & are converted into wordarts. like the one i've made for a PixelScrapper "Recipe" challenge-  "nothing lasts forever". Motivating words that remind us to make the most of the good times & just push throught the hard times because - the "Constant Change" of things makes everything come to an end eventualy.

and now i'd like to share with you a mini scrap kit built around those wise words:

* for those of you how are looking to add a touch of realism to your digi pages, i made a set of crumpled cards - and those who don't care for that, can still enjoy the wordarts in a simple 3x4' square .jpg format
* all files are my original scraps, offered for your Personal Use Only, saved at 300 dpi print quality

a layout made for auntie who dislikes winter & can't wait for summer to come back:

do you find this quote as comforting and motivating as i do?

2014 review

it's been a pretty good year and choosing only a couple of highlights wasn't easy, so i just went with the first that came to mind

layed out in no particular chronological order or importance

using Marisa Lerins "Wandering Road" kit

keeping everything monochromatic with just a few pops of green i was able to squeeze quite a lot of info in there :)

because i needed some sort of calendar, which wasn't in the kit, i created this grungy scripted month list and a cutout year overlay

which i'd now like to share with you, as well

you could build your own scraps from these or just use the pre-made card as is - it's up to you
i know i like receiving certain elements (such as acrylics) already shadowed, so i included some very subtile shadows to save you a bit of time :)

do you find these useful?

first snow

a layout made for the "circles challenge" at PixelScrapper
documenting the first snow we had this season
and its yay & not so yay aspects

...aww, who am i kidding - they're all yay!

turned out quite scattery, but that's ok. i needed a break from the square format, anyway.

made with Sheila Reids "Sweater Weather" & Sharon Dewi Stolps "Winter Wonderland" kit

winter arabesque

by the time we got the january blogtrain theme & color palette i was already in full designing mode and really went overboard with creating an orient style kit.

but i don't care if it is a bit too much. it turned out so beautiful i had to give myself a round of applause when it was done! :)

included are various arabic symbols (tiles, damask, eagles, mosaic, i even threw a camel in the mix), focusing particularly on the textures (so you got metal bits, vellum, wire, leather, stone, even alu foil for some reason)

two features i'd say are my favorite here - the faux arabic calligraphy & the subtle iridesence tones

pretty labour intensive kit, i must say. but after hours and hours of doodling, painting & fiddling around with gimp i proudly present to you my Winter Arabesque:

and since our bedouin boys are currently playing the world cup in the desert, i figured it only makes sense to scrap a page for them

i wonder what magic you'll create with it?

happy new year

have you already scrapped your New Year pages?

well, in case you need some extra supplies i've made this little kit with all the famous new years symbols - piggy representing moving forward and not looking back, clovers for luck, dashes of red...

and here's my layout, just to give you an idea what it all looks like:

but you know what, these puppies are so darn cute, i bet you'll have no problem finding different uses for them.

and if you do make a layout, show me, i'd love to see what you come up with!

holly jolly

seems like the Nutcracker only opened an apetite for designing, so i continued with creating a nice little scrap kit to get you into the christmas mood

containing 1 background paper in .jpg and 8 elements in .png, all at 300 dpi

and covered in my fingerprints, as they passed through my hands, brushes, scissors :)

i used it, in combination with other supplies, to document my christmas day and also practice the pocket style layouts:

and what will you create with it?

welcome, first resident

it's time to give my Nutcracker a permanent home, since PS forum gets locked at the end of the month & i'd like to keep him alive for you guys :)

this was my 1st blogtrain contribution ever & i had a blast making it.

he's crazy, he's wacky, he's my nutty crack-crack-cracker and i'm very proud of him!

not only did i have fun making this mini kit, i also had fun scrapping with it.

this is my latest layout - made with violets premier pro kit "bright days" & my premier BT kit "the nutcracker" - a super cool mix, in my completely bias opinion :)

and what will you create with it?

building a home

it all started when i joined the most wonderful scrapbooking site over at *PixelScrapper*.

suddenly, i got the biggest creative rush and started playing with digital design more then ever.

and now it's time to give my little scraps a home.

a place where i can keep them open, if you ever want to pay a visit!

so, welcome!
